Grace and Dozer
Grace got Dozer when he was about 6 months old. He was being used as a bait dog and was in really bad shape. Shortly after getting him, it was decided that she needed him to be a service dog. She called several local trainers for help. They told her that she should “put him down” or get rid of him because he will never amount to anything. So, she trained him herself.
Now, several years later, he is her service dog and has done everything the other trainers said he couldn’t do and so much more. Because of this, Grace created Dozer’s Pet Academy with the hopes of helping others in need.
Deanna and Marshmallow
Marshmallow is a nine year old Maltipoo. She was found on the streets of Hobart after being abandoned in a house with a larger dog. Because of this, she suffered from severe separation anxiety and resource aggression. Deanna was a first time dog mom when she adopted Marshmallow in August of 2022. Not sure how to deal with Marshmallow’s problems, she called Dozer’s Pet Academy. With lots of training and patience, Marshmallow showed great improvement.
In May of 2023, Marshmallow was attacked by another dog while with a dog sitter. She underwent a 2 1/2 hour surgery and eventually recovered. She has come a very long way and continues to improve. Deanna has learned a lot and is a constant source of love and support for Marshmallow.
